Description of Consultations

Initial Consultation – an initial consultation lasts for approximately 50 mins. This consultation involves history taking, assessment, and exploring what you would like to get from the sessions. It will also likely include developing a treatment plan together to ensure that you feel supported.

Subsequent Consultation – depending on your needs, availability and treatment plan, I offer the option of having either 50 minute or 25 minute follow-up consultations. Please discuss this in more detail with me about which option will be better for you and your situation.

15 minute phone call (New clients only) I offer a free 15 minute phone call to answer any queries and help establish if an online psychology service with Erin Todd Psychology will be the right fit for you. Please contact me if you would like to take advantage of this call.

Payment Information

We ask that sessions are paid for in advance. Detailed information and payment instructions will be sent to you when you book your initial appointment. If you are unable to make an appointment, we can either assist with rescheduling, or if you choose not to go ahead with a session, then we will refund your payment.

Rebates

Medicare

  • You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for telehealth (online counselling) under the Better Access for Mental Health Scheme, depending on your mental health difficulties, and also your location.

  • To get access to this scheme, firstly you will need to visit a General Practitioner (GP) who will assess if you are eligible and will complete a Mental Health Care Plan. Please ask the GP for an extended appointment for this assessment, as they will need time to complete this process. Alternatively, you can get a referral letter from your psychiatrist or paediatrician, if they assess that you are eligible.

  • Current services are offered permanently for online clinical psychology if you live within rural and remote communities. Please click here for more information.

  • In addition, due to COVID factors, Medicare funded online psychology sessions continue to be offered for psychological services.

  • The Better Access initiative will provide you with up to 10 sessions per calendar year. You will receive a rebate of $131.65 for clinical psychology services. You are welcome to attend more sessions if it is appropriate, but you will not receive a rebate for sessions over 10 per calendar year. You will need to pay for the whole amount of the session upfront, and the rebate will be refunded to you into your bank account. You will need to use the Medicare app to obtain your refund.

Please contact me if you have questions about this or for my current availability.

Private Insurance

If you have private health insurance, please check with your provider to find out if you are eligible for a rebate for psychological care, and how to make a claim.
